History: |
Quixotech Systems began in 1994
servicing the needs of Amiga users
in Fairfield county, CT. The name "Quixotech" came from the
combination of quixotic (see above) and technology. Given the
state of the Amiga computer, this was a very appropriate name. Quixotech's current focus, developing IP based
communications solutions for small business, began in 1997. Internet
access hit the mainstream and small businesses and organizations were
coming online. For many, this meant subscribing to an ISP
and dialing up. They were signing up accounts for multiple employees,
installing modems and individual phone lines (or passing a phone cord
around) as more access was required. Small businesses in
southwestern CT based were looking for a different solution. The
solution became the BlackWidow, which was initially released in
1998. As customers embraced the BlackWidow, there was demand for
standards-based, secure, IP collaboration (email, file sharing, web
presence) designed for these organizations. The Syrinx was
released in 2000 in response to this demand. |
